The trumpet is not a quiet instrument. It is used to sound warnings, to mark celebrations, and to announce the presence of special people.
For more than 45 years, the Trumpeter Award has recognized leaders who are not afraid to speak out for social justice and for the rights of consumers.
About the 2021 event
October 12, 2021
Washington, DC
On October 12, 2021, NCL hosted the annual Trumpeter Awards Reception and Dinner at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington, DC, in honor of exceptional leaders with distinguished records advocating for consumer and worker rights. Visit our photo gallery.
We honored Attorney General Dana Nessel, CFPB Director Rohit Chopra, and Michigan Governor Gretchen Whitmer, and Florence Kelley Award recipient April Verrett. We heard them talk about issues that have never been more important to consumers: vaccine awareness, fraud prevention, and the need to protect frontline workers.
Special thanks also to our fabulous introducers: District of Columbia Attorney General Karl Racine, former FTC Chairman Jon Leibowitz, National Alliance for Caregiving President & CEO Grace Whiting, and NCL’s own Board Chair Dominique Warren from SEIU.
