NCL is grateful to our many allies who join us to tackle some of the most challenging issues facing consumers and workers. Our consumer advocacy and public education programs span a wide range of issue areas covered by our mission, including health and safety, food and nutrition, fraud, data and cybersecurity, child labor and workers’ rights, and teen consumer and financial literacy. There are many opportunities to partner with us:
Fraud.org
NCL’s Alliance Against Fraud, a coalition of government, law enforcement, advocacy groups, and business united around the common goal of addressing the growth of fraud. Alliance meetings enable members to discuss new trends in fraud and share strategies for fighting back.
Child Labor Coalition
In 1989, NCL helped launch the Child Labor Coalition (CLC) to ameliorate the worst forms of child labor and to protect teen workers from health and safety hazards. Today, NCL co-chairs and coordinates the coalition of more than three dozen members, who meet regularly to synchronize efforts, plan events, and strategize on awareness-raising.
Health Advisory Council
NCL’s Health Advisory Council brings together a diverse group of dozens of healthcare professional groups and individuals across the spectrum to hear from expert panels, share perspectives, identify opportunities for collaboration, and provide support for NCL’s work in health policy and advocacy.
LifeSmarts
LifeSmarts, established in 1994, is a free educational and scholarship opportunity for middle and high school students structured as a quiz-style competition. LifeSmarts teaches students about financial literacy, consumer rights and responsibilities, the environment, technology, and health and safety. LifeSmarts prepares teens for the real world by providing the skills and knowledge they need to evaluate risks and opportunities and make informed decisions. Partner with LifeSmarts by becoming a sponsor, volunteering at the state or national level, joining the LifeSmarts Alumni Association, and more!
Trumpeter Awards Dinner
For more than 120 years, the National Consumers League has advocated for a fair marketplace and a safe, healthy workplace for all Americans. NCL’s Trumpeter Awards Dinner pays tribute to all those past and present who have contributed and continue to build upon NCL’s rich legacy as a leading voice in advocacy. Trumpeter Awards Dinner sponsorships provide unrestricted funding to help NCL remain responsive to the critical issues of the day.
