Honoring champions of evidence-based healthcare, affordable medicine, and patient rights

The National Consumers League hosted our annual Spring Soiree on April 8, honoring champions of evidence-based healthcare, affordable medicine, and patient rights. Our honorees included the National Medical Association, Champions for Vaccine Education, Equity + Progress, and the Obesity Action Coalition.

CEO Sally Greenberg gave a thought-provoking address stating, “In an era where misinformation is weaponized, and science is being dismissed, we must stand as a force for facts, for evidence-based medicine, and for policies that protect and uplift public health.” Science is not a belief system. It is not up for debate. It is the foundation of modern medicine, the key to longer, healthier lives, and the reason we have eradicated diseases that once ravaged entire communities. And yet, we find ourselves in a moment where that very foundation is under attack.

The facts are clear: for vaccines to protect us all, a significant percentage of the population must be immunized. This is not a theory; it is a scientific reality. And for some of us, it’s personal.
