Are you smarter than a LifeSmarts kid?

LifeSmarts, a program of the National Consumers League, continues to provide students with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate today’s complex, global marketplace. Each year, over 125,000 students take part in LifeSmarts, gaining valuable knowledge about consumer rights and responsibilities, personal finance, technology, workforce readiness, environmental issues, and health and safety. LifeSmarts empowers teens with the skills they need to succeed in today’s fast-paced, global economy. It also provides opportunities to travel, compete, earn scholarships and awards, make new friends from other places, and build confidence by sharpening their critical thinking abilities.

The four-day National Championship event was held in Chicago, featuring 46 teams from 35 different states vying for the national title.  Wisconsin’s Pewaukee High School students were crowned the 2025 Varsity LifeSmarts National Champions. Coached by Shawn Prell, the winning team comprises Logan Nguyen, Max Smith, Ben Varner, Texas Maki, and Landon Pungarcher.   “Congratulations to the Pewaukee High School students on their victory,” said NCL CEO Sally Greenberg. “Your energy, brainpower, and teamwork truly blew everyone away. We are beyond proud of you and can’t wait to see all the amazing things you’ll accomplish in life. Way to make Wisconsin shine!”

From online TikTok challenges to buzzer quizzes, these students showed off their knowledge of LifeSmarts’ five key topic areas.
