NCL statement on Senate Democrats' elimination of the public option

When the Senate Democrats eliminated a public option as part of health reform legislation to expand coverage - a compromise viewed favorably by House leadership as well - a blow was dealt to those who do not currently have coverage. By removing the choice of a public option, we have removed any opportunity to keep consumer access to insurance coverage honest and fair.

TicketDisaster.org urges DOJ to investigate Ticketmaster/Live Nation merger

As Ticketmaster and Live Nation stockholders voted to approve moving forward with the proposed merger, members of the TicketDisaster.org coalition released a statement urging the Department of Justice to look toward the interests of consumers and competition by refusing concessions and blocking the merger.

Consumer groups oppose Ticketmaster-Live Nation merger

Advocates fear the proposed merger between giants Ticketmaster and Live Nation would result in a very consumer-unfriendly monopoly in the industry and leave consumers with fewer options and vulnerable to hikes in already high ticket prices and service fees. NCL and others are calling on the Justice Department to block the merger.
